| My name is David Pavlik and I am
22 years old. I'm a senior at
Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan, majoring in Zoology.
My hobbies include birding, photography, fishing,
camping, hiking and anything outdoors.
In the past, I used a Canon A95 through my Zeiss Diascope (digiscoping) but have upgraded to a Nikon D300. The bird photos are taken with the 70-300mm VR lens. For butterflies, insects and scenery, I usually shoot with a Nikon 18-55mm VR lens. Upgrading has really improved my picture quality. My interest in birds and the natural world has taken me throughout the United States. I have worked in the Kern River Valley in Weldon, California with the endangered subspecies of Willow Flycatcher. In the summer of 2008 I worked in Barrow, Alaska to test shorebirds for Avian Influenza and monitor nests, among other things. In the summer of 2009 I worked in Grand Teton National Park with sagebrush birds. In the summer of 2010 I worked out of Austin, Nevada doing point counts in the four surrounding mountain ranges. I have done grassland bird surveys in Michigan's lower peninsula and waterbird counts in Marquette, Michigan. If you would like to use my pictures for any purpose, or have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at dtpavlik@hotmail.com. Enjoy the website! |
